Curriculum Philosophy

The curriculum at The Nido R. Qubein School of Communication was designed consistent with the following four principles: 1. Communication education is Multidisciplinary. The Nido R. Qubein School of Communication recognizes that communication is enhanced when practitioners are knowledgeable of other academic traditions. 2. Communication education operates in a Global environment. The Nido R. Qubein School of Communication recognizes that contemporary communication is not contained by national boundaries but is influenced by local, regional, national and ethnic cultures. 3. Communication education should be Experiential. The Nido R. Qubein School of Communication believes that communication theories and processes are best learned through direct and frequent application by students. 4. Communication education must be based on Ethical principles. The Nido R. Qubein School of Communication holds that all communication should be readily available, but recognizes that words and images have broad societal impact and should be delivered in appropriate media to appropriate audiences.
