When will the new Nido R. Qubein School of Communication building open? 
 Ground was broken for the new Nido R. Qubein School of Communication in May 2008. Classes will be held in this beautiful, new state-of-the-art building in fall of 2009. Our facilities will feature two high definition television production studios, a multi-track audio recording studio, editing suites, computer labs, a high-definition surround sound theatre-screening room, observation decks, faculty offices, common areas and an incredible games/interactive communication development studio. 

 What are the average class sizes?
 The average class size at High Point University is 15. The student-to-faculty ratio is 14 to 1. Because of smaller class sizes, students at HPU truly receive an extraordinary education with caring people. Our faculty are available to mentor and advise students on projects both within the classroom and beyond. 

 Will you be seeking accreditation for the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication? 
 Yes. The NQSC is developing its academic programs consistent with the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC) guidelines and intends to seek accreditation at the earliest opportunity. ACEJMC conducts accreditation visits three years after initial application--at HPU that will be in 2011.

 What kind of career opportunities are open to Communication majors? 
 Many Communication majors enter traditional Communication careers in journalism, advertising, public relations, corporate communication, political communication, broadcast and news media, and more recently Web, global and intercultural Communication. However, a Communication major is ideal for students with a wide range of interests; it is hard to imagine any career wherein one would not benefit from being a better writer, speaker, analyst and strategist. 

 Who is Nido R. Qubein? 
Dr. Nido R. Qubein is president of High Point University. Twice, Dr. Qubein has been named by one of the country's leading and largest communication training firms, San Francisco-based Decker Communications, to its annual Top Ten Communicators list. Dr. Qubein, one of the most sought after speakers in our country and author of more than a dozen books on communication, leadership and achievement, will be teaching select courses in the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication.
