HIGH POINT, N.C., July 30, 2009 - High Point University graduate Miriam Kimsey and her husband, Steve Kimsey, have made a generous gift of $250,000 to the university in support of the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication. In honor of the gift, HPU is dedicating a portion of the School of Communication in their name - the Miriam and Steve Kimsey Interactive Gaming Development Studio. The interactive gaming studio will be used for the interactive gaming program - one of five specialized majors within the School of Communication. "Steve and I are delighted to be a part of this exciting time in the university's growth," Miriam Kimsey says. "We both have a strong desire to support the university and are grateful for the impact it has had and will continue to have on our community of High Point." Miriam Kimsey, who graduated from HPU in 1984, currently serves on the university's Board of Visitors. She and her husband are strong supporters of HPU.
"Miriam and Steve are dear friends of ours," says Dr. Nido Qubein, president of HPU. "They care deeply about the transformation of High Point University, and we appreciate their continued involvement."
